Aim:
To increase awareness and understanding of anaphylaxis and the safe handling of medication specific to this, particularly epi-pen use.
Anaphylaxis can be caused by insect stings, foods or medication and staff working within healthcare will benefit from an understanding of signs and symptoms and recognising reactions of anaphylaxis.
At training individuals will be shown how to use an epi-pen and will also be provided with practice opportunities for this.
